It has been a slow Winter for me, and I could use some support to keep my business going.  Not looking for a hand out!  Simply seeking a few appointments, hands on, doing the work I do.  My attitude is positive, and there are signs it is getting better all the time.

I am a private practice therapist in the Los Angles region.   I have 15 years experience  in body therapy.  I’m good at what I do – but have been hit hard by this economy.  People are not booking massages like they used too, and I am feeling it – and I am sure their muscles are too (or not feeling it I should say!)    I offer a very good value for the money and don’t generally feel my work needs to be discounted. 

That being said, as  motivation to get a few prepaid appointments, and keep things going, I am offering this:

Prepay for a 1 hour massage at regular price, and I will give you a 90 minute session for that price.  Most people prefer a ninety minute massage, and book the hour due to budget.  For the first 12 people to prepay for a session, I will give them them the 90 for the price of a 60! 

Only 12 will be sold:  90 minute massage for the price of 1 hour   $80   

Thank you for helping me, and I know my work will be of benefit to you.  These massages can be scheduled anytime, this week, next, next month… though the sooner, the better for you!

I really believe in Massage Therapy as being something of value in my life.  Do you?  I am looking for people who do!

It’s a great way to take care of yourself, body, mind. spirit.  I’ve written and spoke about that a lot over the years.   I think you know that, if you are one of my past clients or students! Even if you are a random reader, you are reading this post from human touch massage, I imagine you know how good it is for you.

Yet… you haven’t called me recently!

I have an honest question for you:

Would  you want to get a massage session with me sometime in 2010?

• Next week?  Next month?
• Next Summer?  Next Fall?
• Your birthday? After your vacation? After your marathon?OK, good!

Can you please make a $10 down payment on a session for sometime this year?

• So often we think about it, and then put it off…
• This will commit you to booking the session!
• Schedule when it is a good time for you, financially and otherwise.
• You can pay the balance off before, or at your appointment.

Ever want a massage and think you can’t afford it?  

Lately, a few people have called or emailed me: “I want to let you know that I intend to book an appointment, and I’ll call you back when I can budget it”.  Some times they do, but often times I never hear from them again.  I assume their intention was true, but the budget never managed to include the massage!

If your budget  can’t afford a massage today, plan to get one in a month.  Or in two months.  Commit to it, make it a goal.  If you need it now, you’ll need it then.   Even just once a month, or every other month will make a difference!  You know the wonderful benefits of massage.

Make a commitment to your own health and well being and make a down payment on the session. 

Pay for it a little at a time, weekly, monthly, whatever fits your budget.  Layaway style. 

• a $10 payment every week is  6 massages a year.

This is a great way to begin to receive the benefits of massage therapy in your life!

• $20 a week, you can get a massage once a month. 

You will enjoy increased well being by making monthly massage part of your personal self care plan.

To come up with $10 or $20 each week is easy – it might mean one brown bag lunch,  rather than going out, (which might be healthier!) or not get a latte before work (which might be healthier!), or not go out for drinks after work (which might be healthier!)  or something else you spend twenty dollars a week on that isn’t as good for you as regular massage…

You deserve it. You know getting massage is a great way to take care of yourself.  And here is an easier way to budget it into your life.

When you are able, on your own schedule, make more payments online… or simply pay the amount due at the time of your appointment.  Your credit will never expire, and there is no late fees, so pay when it is convenient for you!

Dear students of human touch thai massage,

I know there are many who took Introduction to Thai Massage (8 hour) and have been waiting for Thai Massage 1 (24 hour) to fit your schedule.  
I am interested and available to teach it in January of 2010
if enough people are interested, I know I have a few from recent classes, and a few from years past.  I am very grateful for those I have taught, and even more so for you who wish to study more from me.  It is encouraging!  I love to teach Thai work, and I do feel I have something special to offer  in my approach to Traditional Thai Massage. 

So… if you are someone who wants to study Thai with me and can in January 2010, please let me know ASAP!  email me at brian@humantouchmassage.com  let me know if you want to, what days/times might work for you.  I can do a weekend, or weekday class.  It is usually 3 days, all in a row, or over three weeks.   The Thai 1 class is really designed for students who have already taken my Introduction to Thai Massage (there are a couple hundred of you out there) though I will consider waving that if you have other Thai experience.  I can also do another Intro class to prepare people, if needed, but it is really based upon a committed interest.

Despite rumors of moving, Venice, California is still home base.
human touch massage services, including Thai Massage, are available in the greater LA area, and in other parts of California when I travel.

human touch massage therapy will again be in a Venice area office, for added convenience.

During the holiday season it is easy to get overwhelmed.

Getting ready for the holidays:  Shopping, cooking, cleaning, traveling.

Dealing with family members – and sometimes the stress that accompanies that.

Loneliness – sometimes all the holiday cheer makes ones aloneness more apparent.

And reflecting back on the previous year, it is often easy to see what was wrong with it, and again, create distress to ourselves.

We need strategies to deal with stress, especially if we know that the “holiday blues” has affected us in years past.

Did you know that massage therapy is one of the best ways to beat holiday moodiness?

I have had some shift in how I work – for now, no longer in a set office space,  and once again my practice is mobile.

I can come see you throughout the L.A. area – with my main focus being the areas surrounding Venice: Mar Vista, Marina, Westechester, Playa.  I can come to anywhere really – let’s arrange a visit!

I also travel north often, and with the California massage license changing in 2009 to a statewide system, I will offer my services to the people of the areas I visit often:  San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, Sonoma, Santa Rosa, Guernville, Humboldt, Arcata and any stops in between.  I will post my travel schedule and dates I will be available in those areas.

I am also available for music events, festivals, shows, retreats, gatherings, workshops, film shoots, wrap parties…  you name it.
